The video above was produced to promote the 18th World Petroleum Congress in Johannesburg, South Africa, 2005.

The purpose of the video was to impress upon potential participants:

• the significance of the event
• its relevance to South Africa
• Johannesburg’s developed conference facilities and infrastructure
• the impact of the event upon the nation
• South Africa’s rich culture

It was distributed to prospective delegates, speakers, sponsors, partners and exhibitors. The video played an important role in underlining the World Petroleum Council’s decision to take this prestigious event to the African continent for the first time. It was also instrumental in helping participants who had not visited South Africa before, to visualise the facilities for the 18th WPC, and to get a deeper understanding of the nation, its culture and its energy industry.
